We often interpret mistakes as bad or as a failure, but we don’t realize that mistake or failure are what helps us learn. Like my mother I also had the fear and failure of wasting time, but I took the risk on going. Learning from failure is important because we benefit from seeing what went wrong in athletic performance, the workplace, and relationships. In general, we probably don’t seek out failure to gain learning experiences and in some circumstances failure would have dire consequences.
